We are in search for an efficient way to assess the strong points and inefficiencies of the digital landscape of a retail focused bank located in Central-Eastern Europe.

The scope would be to:

  1. Understand what is the current gap between our performance and industry standards, as well as the gap between our performance and customer expectations.
  2. Develop a roadmap that integrates the current running initiatives.
  3. Business case.

It seems to be that this is a big challenge. I would definitely recommend starting with a Business Canvas (see attached- 15th pic). Define any of the 9 boxes and in any of the boxes, you can go into a deeper detail.

 

I agree with Milena Ribarova that you should not focus on competition for now, but think of what pains do you want to solve and what gains you will bring to your end customer. ( Value proposition- 18th pic is good to start with).

 

I have applied the two of them and it works brilliantly. If you want to read more- you can find it in the book - Business Model Canvas and Value Proposition by Alexander Osterwalder.

Dear Bogdan,

The challenge you have shared is a really critical one and many companies have faced it. It would be a subject to deep analysis and planning which could not be made here as an advice but I will give you my thoughts on this.

Do not search for the current gaps between your company and the market/your competitors. You rather focus on comparing with your future rivals and the market. Be disruptive and do not wait and analyse too long. You better react fact. Set your future disruptive goal and go for it!

The fact that you are asking these questions now means your company has already been late!
