Hello All,
My client is a company that has never done before process improvement transformations.
How do you explain to stakeholders who have never experienced Lean 6 sigma, Operational Excellence, Process transformation projects why workflow analysis is so important before introducing automation and new technology?
What language do you use if you cannot use the technical terminology?
Do you have a simple structure/plan how do you explain workflow analysis?
Many thanks,
Marieta
Hi Marieta,
Maybe the best way to start is with a workshop and explaining the process with sticky notes. Choose a simple and short process. Make a mini workflow analysis. Write the steps on the sticky notes. Write how much time each step requires. Find the step requiring longest time to process and the one which if you eliminate, the process will not lose it’s quality (it’s useless). Then re-order the sticky notes so the time to process all steps is improved. In this way they will see how useful can be the real workflow analysis. You can explain in this way as well. Did you understand me? I’m sure Yes. And I haven't used any lean terminology - right?
