Hi,
The Head of Retail in a traditional bank in Eastern Europe is facing the consequences of the ever-changing environment. He understands the service of the disruptor banks and would like to initiate a brainstorming on the main challenges he will face and doesn’t see them coming.
Based on your experience (it might be from Western Europe) what are the challenges he needs to be prepared for in short term and long term horizon in order to stay relevant on the market?
Thanks,
Marieta

Hi Marieta,
Definitely the banks are experiencing challenging times with all the disruption on the market and especially the fintech startup solutions.

I think the Retail Banker in today's days should focus on:
Â
- new easy accessible products addressing the demand for online services
- eliminating any waste in the processes and boosting the operational and transactional performance, forget about tough procedures and be flexible
- decommission legacy systems and innovate to overcome the tech challenges of the tough and inefficient maintenance of the old systems, hard to change in the integrations. Instead, use the light new solutions with easy integrations, flexible and adaptive to changes architecture and having the necessary strong security features to respond to the today's threads of all the data privacy and cyber-security challenges
Â
Hope this will be of use. Staying open to discuss more on this,
Milena
