What are the main pillars of Digital transformation?

2. What do you want to achieve with Digitalisation - measure the opportunities, how this could be translated in the business (milestones roadmap), evaluate the implementation cost and carefully analyse Return On Investment cost.

3. As digital transformation needs continuity, constant follow up and upgrade, you need to put into consideration support team (could be outsourced), strategy in place and desire to lead the digital transformation in the business.

I think having a preset of what transformation means for each organisation is a bit of a red herring. I can share, however, the key inputs we would consider.

1) You need a very clear, simple and measurable understanding of where the organisation is trying to get to. Practical business objectives, to put it simply.

2) You need to understand the needs of the people the organisation serves (internally and externally)

3) You need to prioritise these needs. Finding those at the intersection of what the organisation and the people want to achieve.

If you then review the systems and platforms that best serve these shared priorities, you won't go far wrong and importantly you will know where to start. You can then review the market and assess your options considering other more standard dimensions such as cost, time, ROI etc.

that is a great topic that you have raised. 

Currently, I lead a digital transformation project and I would advise on pillars as:

1. Mobile/ virtual workplace

2. Online presence

3. Automation

4. Data-driven decision making

5. Cyber Security

Something to be aware of and that will require a lot of behaviour change is to start rewarding your employees, based on efficiencies rather than volume/hours worked. This will make them more comfortable with any automation and data-driven decision making. At the end of the day you need to onboard them sooner than later and that is the key to any transformation.
