I am a PM and recently I was assigned for a big international project. Multiple people are working on the same project and it’s hard to keep track of what each person is doing. Do you know some useful tips to start applying?

First, check your organizational process regarding project management that are in place (from PMO office if exists). Second, check communication plan for projects, especially the way of allocation resources and reporting the progress and cost (hours spent in activities).
Check which tools the organization are using.
Try to use JIRA (it is an easy and powerfully tools for project management, either is agile or waterfall methodologies).
