What tools would you recommend to prevent problems or make contingencies?

04.06.2019 at 09:23h

Hello Christian, You have asked a very good question and one that is not very easy to answer. As you haven’t mentioned your industry, type of work, type of operations, technology baseline, team size, ways of working etc, my response will be somewhat ‘vanilla’. In terms of tooling, unless you are using some form of machine learning, then it sounds like you will need to create a Knowledge Base using an information sharing  platform, with some form of search facility. There are a number of pos... read more

What is an efficient way to structure a new Operating Model?

04.06.2019 at 09:40h

Marieta, If you are looking at the whole end to end process for delivering a ToM then you should be looking at: The Strategy driving the change The desired end point/end state The Transformation/Transition/Change trajectory the Organisation needs to follow to get to that desired end point from where they are today The ToM should then be designed based on the changes necessary to achieve that desired end state in relation to: Organisation (what structure and associated functions) People (ne... read more

Have you encountered an efficient way to deal with key-man-risk dependency?

03.06.2019 at 12:03h

So where I had multiple SMEs and single points of risk, I created a development plan where each member of staff had to learn and perform at least one other member of staffs job. It was built into their development plan and I adjusted the work responsibility balance to ensure that this was possible. The SME... read more

How do we transition to a new, collaborative way of working?

03.06.2019 at 12:23h

Hello, I have personally managed this typr of problem as a large Programme with some 5,000 people, across GB, organised into a number of business specific groupings. We trialled the approach where some business functions were given a structured approach to follow and some business functions were allowed latitude to explore and expand how they used the new platforms. Our findings were, that the people given a structured basis to use the platforms derived the highest benefit from it, as they ha... read more
